The book screws are capped so they dont xxxx down tight. The is quite a lot of wiggle when attached to the backplate and through the grommet. I am worried the wiggle will work the xxxx out. Am I doing something wrong?

The Hollis book screws are made for a variety of uses. In some cases there will be wiggle. This being one of them. You are not doing anything wrong. I would check them often just like you would all your gear. You could also try a different size book xxxx .
