I dive cold water and warm water and I am thinking about buying a 3 mm and wearing lava core instead of a7mm is this a good idea?

Hey Monk, using 3mil suit with Lavacore is functional. Bear in mind that it would only give you the exposure protection equivalent of a 5 mil suit, not a 7 mil. If you're looking for the equivalent of a 7 mil, I would recommend a 5 mil suit with the Lavacore.
