Hi Marilyn,
Yes this mask does keep the fog out of the viewing area by design. The fresh air comes into the mask through the snorkel on top and passes over the lens to keep it clear of fog. The air is expelled through the one way valve in the bottom of the mask, containing all the fog to the mouth area on the mask below the nose skirt.
