Hi Stilldivin, this valve has a second diaphragm inside to reduce the chances of back flow in a contaminated diving environment. If your current valve is leaking, it may be an issue inside the valve, or it has come loose on the suit. Please email me at augiej@diverightinscuba.com, and we can go over your options on replacement valves, to make sure we get you the correct size.
