While SCUBA certification is not a requirement in order to dive with the unit, we highly recommend becoming certified prior to use for your own safety and well-being. Certification will teach you skills and techniques to help keep you safe underwater, whether it be with a traditional SCUBA unit or the Nomad system. It will also help you understand the physiological effects of diving and how to stay within recreational limits. Here is BLU3's statement regarding safe operation of the unit
""Whether you're diving Nemo or Nomad, make sure you take the BLU3 Online Dive Training Course before diving. With a maximum depth of 30 feet, Nomad is best for experienced divers. We strongly recommend diving with a Spare Air and getting SCUBA certified to further your diving skills.""
