Both are great regulators and each have been tested by Scuba Diving Magazine in their SCUBALAB regulator reviews. The D3 and XTX50 both scored highly in real world breathing and on the simulator. The XTX50 has a big advantage in the warranty department. Apeks/AquaLung have a two year service interval with free service kits for as long as you own the regulator (and keep the service interval up).
